This is the first stage in the personal presentation specification, so it is important to make a good impression. Selectors see many candidates in a day, and are constantly, writing notes, so the photograph may well be referred to as a visual reminder.

Don’t send casual holiday shots; have your photos professionally taken - Emirates are so strict about the standard of the photographs that they may not even invite you to attend an interview unless you send professional photos.

As cabin crew, you will be the face of the airline and your standards of presentation should therefore by very high. With this in mind, I would suggest wearing something similar to a cabin crew uniform (don’t be too over the top though). Most importantly, you must be smiling. This gives the impression that you are friendly and welcoming.

For the ladies, make up is usually part and parcel with the cabin crew uniform, so wear plenty whilst still looking as natural as possible. Don’t go overboard but emphasise your check, lips and eyes. It’s amazing what a bit of lipstick and blusher can do!

As for your hair, it should be neat and well groomed. Emirates are very particular about how your hair should be so for ladies, if you have short hair, be sure it is neat and well groomed. For those with long hair, you should pin your hair back with no loose stands covering your face. Male candidates should have short but not shaved hair, and be clean shaven.

By following these suggestions, you will be maximising your opportunity for success because the person seeing the photos will be able to visualise you as cabin crew material.
